To Look Deeper

TW: talk about mental health issues.

Hola human beings, I’m going to dive into the mental health issue of Bipolar Disorder today.

As someone that suffers from Bipolar Disorder, I would never say anything that will raise controversy or will hurt anyone. If that does happen, know it was completely unintentional and I will apologize in advance for it.

When we talk about Bipolar Disorder, we usually tend to think about \”over dramatic behavior\” or someone who goes from happy to sad to mad to happy again in the span of seconds. A person with Bipolar Disorder is someone who has no or very low control on their reactions and emotions. We experience high highs and low lows. We feel things, and feel them passionately.

Bipolar Disorder has many negative stereotypes around it. Some people say we\’re incapable of love, and that\’s what I\’m going to be talking about today.

Love and mental health issues is a topic that\’s not addressed as much as it should be. To be in a relationship with someone who is mentally upset and has some kind of mental health disorder is difficult for both sides of the party. Someone with Bipolar Disorder, and is in a relationship, is someone who needs constant reassurance but at the same time needs space as well. The other person will never know what to expect, and will never be able to prepare for it.

It\’s like a rollercoaster, you sit, buckle up, and hope you don\’t fall out.
