  • The Truth About What Is Happening In China

The Greener Grass A Blog by Jessica Nino Tip Of The Day: You are the reason you’re here today. You’re stronger than you believe. ❤ The Truth About What is Happening in China: Trigger Warnings: Islamophobia, Abuse, Violence, Sexual Violence and Assault, Genocide China’s History with Islamophobia: Around the eighteenth century, the growth from the Qing Dynasty destroyed the peace between China and Islamic people. Between 1862 and 1877, arguments between a Chinese Merchants and Muslim Hui led to an ethnic war causing millions of deaths; this was known as the Dungan Revolt. However, much Islamophobia came by influence from the West. Because of the tragedy of 9/11, this sparked immense hate towards the Islamic community. This caused many to avoid or dislike Muslims due to the irrational belief that all are terrorists and aggressive. This only worsened the situation for Muslims, forcing them to be watched closely and calling their religions and beliefs extreme and “dangerous”. This is not only a problem in China, but also a growing problem in and influenced by  the U.S. The Xinjiang Concentration Camps: As many have been made aware recently, many Muslims in China have been taken captive and inserted into concentration camps. They are forced to act against their religious beliefs, mistreated, and punished simply for their belief and faithfulness to the Islamic religion. Sayragul Sauytbay has become one of the few to make it out of the camps alive thanks to asylum from Sweden. She has spoken out about the conditions in the camps, and they are truly terrifying. At the beginning of 2017, Sayragul was taken from her home with her head covered and placed in a jail for hours to be interrogated about where her family was, then told not to share her experience with anyone. Later that year, she was sent to an address and told to wait for police to show up; where she would inevitably be taken into the camps. Prisoners are given uniforms,  get their heads shaved, forced to sleep in certain positions, and crammed in small rooms. Hygiene is not properly handled, food is everyday terrible, and everyone is forced to eat pork. Prisoners are being tortured relentlessly. Women are forced to take pills that would eventually sterilize them, and many are eventually sexually assaulted and raped. Amazingly, Sayragul was able to escape, but what about those who cannot do so? How To Help: https://www.stopgenocide.org/close-the-camps/ https://www.amnesty.org/en/get-involved/take-action/tell-china-to-close-its-secret-reeducation-camps-for-ethnic-minorities/ https://uhrp.org/news-commentary/petition-stand-uyghur-muslims-china To be completely honest, I feel like signing petitions isn\’t enough, but we\’re also in a powerless position; I would advise you all to bring this topic up whenever you can to whoever you can. Being able to spread this information to those around us will most likely follow a chain and spread the words and concerns these people deserve. Contact me Hi! • Songs To Help You Wrap Up Your Summer

The Greener Grass A Blog by Jessica Nino Tip Of The Day: Treat people with kindness (including yourself) ❤ Songs To Help You Wrap up Your Summer With fall at our fingertips, I decided to make a playlist to help you say goodbye to your summer. Although summer was not like what many of us had planned, we can all agree it brought us a break, change, growth, or a chance to prosper. In no specific order or rank, here are some songs that give you the summer feeling even if we couldn’t experience it at its fullness. Although there were many songs to choose from and that I was recommended, I chose to stick to songs that were released this year or late last. (songs are listed by artist/album) Links to each song will be down below. The least I could do was make a playlist to last you the remaining hot days as we transition into fall weather. Cruel Summer- Taylor Swift (Lover) Cruel Summer gives off the perfect summer car ride vibes. Off of the “Lover” album, Taylor uses this song to describe a summer romance/love and the sneaking around and ultimate adventure of it. I Think He Knows- Taylor Swift (Lover) I Think He Knows is such a refreshing song off of the “Lover” album. I Think He Knows talks about Taylor speculating her “crush” is well aware of the feelings she has for them. I Think He Knows carries a beat you can’t resist dancing to. Wildflower- 5 Seconds of Summer (CALM) Wildflower is the sixth track off of 5 Seconds of Summers’ CALM album released March 27th of this year. If I had to pick one song to put me in the summer mood it would most definitely be Wildflower. Wildflower carries an irresistibly funky pop beat and radiates such a positive energy. With their bassist taking on the lead, Calum Hood executes the perfect energy summer is known for giving off. Thin White Lies- 5 Seconds of Summer (CALM) Thin White Lies is a great song to watch the hot sun set to. The deep guitar in the back matches the sun and the chorus adds suspense and a thrill to watch the sun sink into the nights’ loneliness. Solia- Bad Bunny (YHLQMDLG) Off of Bad Bunnys’ second album “Yo Hago Lo Que Me Da La Gana” (I Do What I Want), Solia is a song to dance to. Although many had plans to party during this summer, our plans seem to have changed. Although it\’s not the same as an actually party or club/baile, Solia gives us a beat to bump in our room and at least feel the energy we would have expected to feel at a dance. Desires- Drake Ft. Future (Dark Lane Demo Tapes) Desires carries a very fast beat and is honestly very uplifting. With Dark Lane Demo Tapes bringing us a little bit of hope for the long months inside we experienced, Desires is the ultimate hype up song. Watermelon Sugar – Harry Styles (Fine Line) Although Fine Line was released December 13th of last year, Harry hit us with a video for watermelon sugar in may making it an official single. Watermelon Sugar is the ultimate sunny day at the beach anthem. With Harry\’s voice acting as a refresher and the instruments imitating the summer fun. Cherry – Harry Styles (Fine Line) Unlike Watermelon Sugar, Cherry has more serious intentions. Cherry is the song to listen to at night as small gusts of a summer breeze push past you. Cherry is a very reflective tune to enjoy. Sunflower Vol.6 – Harry Styles (Fine Line) Much like Watermelon Sugar, Sunflower Vol.6 is a sunny day anthem. Similarly, it carries a fun and fresh beat to bounce to and is the ultimate serotonin releaser. Unlike Watermelon sugar though, Sunflower Vol.6 gives off ‘fields of flowers’ ‘sun dress’ and ‘random joy dancing’ vibes. Sunflower Vol.6 is the song to listen to if you are in the mood for spontaneous excitement and adventure. Fourteen Gears – Midland (Let It Roll) Fourteen Gears takes a fun yet slower beat and mixes it with an outstanding chorus to complement road trips and sunsets. It mentions the three Texas cities Houston, Dallas, and San Antonio (the holy trio) (joking) (…unless), and is overall a relaxing song to ride along with. Playboys – Midland (Let it Roll) Playboys enhances summer fun in the country, by adding a classic country tone with a stupendous short guitar solo and is a bit nostalgic to the summer nights we expected filled with carnival rides, games, and fun. Lost In The Night – Midland (Let It Roll) Lost In The Night takes a slower approach to a summer night and gives off a slow dance opportunity. Lost in the night is the song to dance to on the porch with your significant other as the moonlight beams over y’all. No Glory In The West – Orville Peck (Show Pony) No Glory In The West is another country tune, but in a much more serious light. This is the song to listen to on a lonely summer night. This southern packed song carries a very meaningful set of lyrics to help decompress and dissect. My Affection – Summer Walker (Life On Earth) Summer Walker releasing My Affection July 10th of this year along with the rest of her Life On Earth EP, put all of us in a certain mood that midnight. Summer Walkers’ soulful voice really gets the job done and sets the mood for a slow vent session in your room. White Tee – Summer Walker (Life on Earth) White Tee will be the aftermath of your previous vent session with My Affection. White Tee is a confidence booster and reassurer. Summer Walker only made this song to remind you who you are and where you stand and hype you up (straight facts). Like It – Summer Walker Ft. 6LACK (Over It) Like it carries the perfect summer vibe beat and Summer and 6LACK execute the lyrics amazingly. Like It is a solid bop that will make up for your ruined “Hot Girl Summer”. Playa – Wynne (If I May) The Portland rapper Wynne released If I May back in October and hit us with the ego increasing confidence booster called ‘Playa’ as the fourth track. Playa only reassures you of who you are and what you can do. It is great to bump in your headphones when you feel you’re having a slower day. Petty – Wynne (If I May) Another song off of If I May, Petty gives off the vibe of exactly what it sounds like: being petty. Petty is another confidence booster to keep you with your head high. Tutu – Camilo & Pedro Capo (Por Primera Vez) Tutu is the summer refresher you didn’t know you needed. It\’s the type of song to make you feel lighter on the inside and enjoy the sun rays beaming through your window next to you. Songs that Didn\’t Make the Cut Because Of Their Release Date Estate – Joao Gilberto Make You Mine – Public Marlboro Nights – Lonely God Tongue Tied – Grouplove Sad Summer – Yeek Slide – Calvin Harris Ft. Frank Ocean No Better – Lorde The Louvre – Lorde End Up Here – 5 Seconds Of Summer Summer Love – One Direction Fireproof – One Direction A.M. – One Direction Contact me Hi! • How to Draw Better

How to Draw Better (this also applies to other art techniques/mediums for the most part) – Recently I’ve been trying to get better at drawing. I think I’ve come a long way over the past year. I have no idea how interested you are in this post idea so let me know. I do NOT proclaim to be an expert or anything close, but I can say that I have improved, and I feel like this can apply to anyone regardless of how well they currently draw. Let me quickly say that I think everyone should try some sort of creative outlet, especially during hectic covid when we are isolated. 1) Simple references. When you are first starting out, use the most basic and clear references you can find. If you are drawing people, try to avoid reference photos that have hands in them or difficult textured items. Steadily increase the complexity of your references, so that as you get comfortable drawing something you expand on it and explore more and more things until you can draw practically anything. Trust me this works. Over time you will see progress, and you’ll develop your own technique, style and pace. Remember that If you are using another artist’s work as a reference, always give them credit, and try to make it your own by incorporating your own style instead of merely copying. 2) Circles. It’s likely that you’ve heard this one, but try to blend in circular motions. This has definitely made a difference in my pieces, as my sketches take on more form and look more realistic. This also helps you build layers better, and mix colors better if that’s what you’re blending. Passing your writing utensil back and forth only does so much and ends up looking stiff and flat. Another thing to think about is how you hold your pencil (or other utensil). The higher up you hold it, the looser and freer your marks will be. This part is hard to describe, as I can envision someone just making scribbles when doing this. This lightens your marks and allows for a full range of motion. This takes practice, and gets better over time. 3) Experiment. What can I say about this? Figure out something that you want to create, and then experiment with different techniques, and add to it. Change up the subject matter and vary the way you make it. Often this is how you discover your own style and develop skills in other mediums. Instead of just drawing cityscapes, try animals. Instead of flowers, try an architectural type sketch. Instead of hands, try faces, etc. The possibilities are as limitless as your imagination. You might end up liking your piece, you might not. But you pushed out of your comfort zone and that’s how you really end up growing. 4) Inspiration. Many people say they only draw/do art when they feel a sudden burst of inspiration. I try to draw regardless of whether I feel inspired or not. Doing this (at least for me) helps me feel inspired more often, and helps me focus more, so when I do feel inspired I don’t get frustrated if/when I am no longer inspired by an idea. So while I suggest that you do art even when you don’t feel a burst of creativity, I think it’s important to recognize when/how you feel inspiration. Take note of occasions when you feel inspired so you can better recognize the source(s) of your creativity. You can then sort of control/influence inspiration. Doing this also helps you learn who you are (idk how to phrase that right). 5) Practice. I have heard this a lot, and I kind of rolled my eyes at first, but eventually I made myself draw something everyday. It can seriously help you develop yourself as an artist. You can draw anything. This isn’t actually asking a lot, just sti down for even 5 minutes a day and sketch, doodle, paint etc. You will develop your skills more and won\’t get “rusty.” There’s something about it that helps you kind of refer to yourself as an artist. You familiarize yourself with what you love to do and do it often, and this is an amazing way to relieve stress, to exercise your self control, and to get some special art out of it. Stay safe, Mary (p.s. I love feedback and suggestions for future posts) 8:00pm (GMT +3), Feb. 9th, 2021, Tuesday #art #drawing #improvement #inspiration

  • To: The Next Generation (a poem)

To the eyes that will watch the sun rise the stars gleam and to the hearts that will go through pain and sorrow grief and despair happiness and joy to the feet that will walk on this land and create new footprints good luck. It is not easy being someone and having a voice it is not easy to get through the downs and reach for the ups it is not easy to live. ~ Avii Feb.18th, 2021 Thursday 6:23pm #writing #art #improvement #journalism #poetry #poem

  • The Greener Grass, by Jessica Nino

The Greener Grass A Blog by Jessica Nino Tip of The Day: Take a moment to stretch<3 Although states have refused to close again, many people have continued their quarantine habits because of the second wave and increasing cases since public places reopened. Here are some cool things you can do while staying safe! Activities You Can Still Enjoy Without Being at Risk Friendly Reminder: It\’s okay to have a bad day and feel unproductive, it happens to everyone. Don\’t beat yourself up, just try to do something you like the next day! Observe animals and planetariums I\’m not even going to hide my excitement for this one, this is probably something I watched for hours at a time and found to be amazing. Many zoos, aquariums,  and oceans have cameras that livestream or pre-record for long amounts of time. There are also some online planetariums that let you look into the sky and click on stars/planets that are visible and change your view and location. This is something I find very interesting and time consuming so I would definitely recommend giving this a try. Research a new Interest Take some time to read or learn about small interests you have. I recently came across an article about the best preserved mummies, and it was a good read and distracted me for a while. I encourage you to search for things you like, constantly wonder about, or make you curious. There can be a lot going on right now on the news, and in our families so it\’s refreshing to wander away for a minute and read about something you like and absorb the information available from it. Go outside To gain a better perspective on effective activities that keep you entertained, I asked a couple of my friends what they\’ve been doing to help them steady throughout these months. Many answered things like: skateboarding, gardening, exercising, going for walks, sitting outside, and meditating. They all said they choose to do these activities outside because they get a bit of fresh air, and it calms them down a bit. I spend much of my time inside, but I agree that sometimes inside can be too much. When I feel anxious or my head hurts I go outside and am quickly relieved to find I enjoy it. Observe the Outside Let\’s be honest for a moment, many of us ruined our sleep schedule as being inside grew longer and longer. If you find yourself up very early or late I recommend setting a time to watch the sunrise or sunset. If you somehow haven’t ruined your sleep schedule, I’d recommend doing some star gazing. You can either take a blanket and lay it on grass and watch them from outside or watch them inside from a window. I really like this idea because it doesn\’t require much effort and can be done at your comfort. Try a New Sport or Exercise Like mentioned before, I asked my friends what activities they were doing. One of my friends began to skateboard, and my friends who regularly play are continuing to by themselves. If you’re serious about a sport or regularly play i’d say this is more like normal practice or avoiding rust from months of being inactive. If there’s a sport you’ve always wanted to learn, now is the best time to start it due to all the free time. Pick Up Photography as a Skill My friend who recently got injured from his last sports season mentioned he\’s trying out photography. I think this is a cool thing to pick up because it\’s so easy to do. All you need is a phone and a target or item to shoot. If you do become more serious about it, you can buy a camera. Even if you’re not interested in it you’ll most likely improve the way you take pictures which won’t hurt. The least you can take away is a better angle for you to post with. Learn a New Language or Sentence I\’ve heard multiple people mention they started learning a new language because it\’s something they never had time for before. Learning a new language can be a new challenge for you to take on if you feel like your brain is mush (I know mine is). Escape Your Comfort Zone A lot of people have found themselves in a constant state of boredom because they feel as if they’re not being challenged. I\’d suggest doing something you wouldn\’t normally find yourself doing and even avoiding. Being open to something like this will open you up more, and make you tolerant of this you aren’t familiar with. It will also add a challenge and you might end up making it a new hobby. Communicate With Others Because groups of people are still limited, and many of us have gone months without seeing our friends in person, calling or facetime them is a great idea. It will distract you more the longer you\’ve gone without seeing them because it’s our nature to want to catch each other up. Call, text, facetime, or game with your friends, family and loved ones. Being around the same people can become irritating so being able to talk to others you miss can make you feel better, distract you, and keep you caught up with them and vice versa. Try Out a New Look Whether you try new outfits, makeup, or hairstyles, its a great way to speed time along and conforms with any gender! You can paint your nails different colors, try new clothing combinations, wear things you normally wouldn’t and embrace them to learn if they suit you. Whether you identify as a woman, a man, non binary, etc. it\’s a good time to mess with your look and discover who you are through it without being scared or worrying about being judged, or deciding what you do and don’t like. Find Your Birthday Comic The Garfield website releases new comics every day, and you can also search the one released the day you were born or any other day. If you’re not into Garfield, you can find websites to find different comics related to certain days, genres, and authors. (here\’s mine:)) Give Art a Try Personally, I\’ve spent much of my time these past months painting, drawing, coloring, clay molding, and outlining many things. Don’t be afraid to try and do any of these things because Art Is Subjective. Your art is whatever you believe it to be, it can be secretive, it can be bold, it can be scribbles, or a portrait. Your art will only be good if you believe it is good and it can carry meanings only you understand. It can free up tensions and when I do it, time seems to fly by. Write a Journal Another thing I started right before spring break was a journal. I suggest this if there\’s things you only trust with yourself, if you’be been feeling anxious, depressed, alone, or daydreaming like crazy. Writing can be such an outlet if you let it be and if you feel stressed or anxious it can be the release of emotion you need it to be. Writing is also subjective so no one has to understand it or like it but you. It is something that can become more personal with time, but also help you grow as you let things go with it. Read If you’re into that sort of thing, reading can be a relaxer and take things off your mind with ease. I find myself to be a picky reader and sometimes have difficulty finding books but thats the beauty in looking for one! Books are everywhere and honestly still pretty accessible if you’re looking for a paper copy. I recently found one of my new favorites at a Dollar Tree for A DOLLAR. (It was a signed copy and hard cover that retailed for about 30$ online). I do recommend taking the time to look for a book that interests you because it helped me a lot when I took the time to do it. Free Comic Book Day is having a summer event where through July to September comic books will be issued out to those who sign up for them. (link down below) Books i recommend: Windfall by Jennifer E. Smith, I Know Why The Caged Bird sings by Maya Angelou (Autobiography) , The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd (Novel), Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi (comic), Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe (Novel), The Maze Runner Series by James Dashner (Adventure Fiction Novel), Looking for Alaska by John Green (Novel) and The Flowers by Alice Walker (DARK poem). 15.Play a Challenging Game If you find yourself not being challenged (once again), try finding a challenging game you\’d like. Whether it\’s a puzzle, word game, or those games where it’s really hard to control your character (I am bread, octodad, heart surgeon simulator, goat simulator) it will sure take you some time to figure out the controls and what to do in order to beat the level. Listen to Calm/White Noise Listen to calm songs. (No not CALM by 5sos) (Ok yes CALM by 5sos)(If you know you know). Listen to music and songs that will help you relax when you feel your anxiety is starting to rise or become irritated. You can meditate, make mental notes, or just vibe. This will help you get your thoughts and ideas out and can trigger your creativity. You can also listen to music if you’re having trouble sleeping. For my fellow Harries/Stylers there’s Dream With Harry by Harry Styles, and if you\’re looking for something else there\’s apps like the Calm app that have specific sounds for your trouble. To me this means we can help each other out, we can teach and learn from each other; we will all eventually feel stress, pressure, & frustration, but together we can make the most out of it and encourage each other & grow. • The Music of the Marches

By Mista-3/5/2021 It\’s the month of March.  Usually, it\’s supposed to get warmer…right? Ah well, not this year.  It\’s been unbelievably cold these past several weeks.  Since it\’s too cold outside for a walk(read: I prefer being sedentary and sitting whilst munching on snacks), it\’s always a great idea to listen to some music. Now, the modern fellows and ladies certainly have their own intriguing playlists with their loud shredding guitars and the heavy banging of drums and the seemingly constant….crashing, but I assure you….classical music is definitely worth a listen. \”Classical\” is an umbrella term-the music itself is divided into time periods, each with their respective representative composers: Baroque(1600-1750) Ex. Bach, Handel, Vivaldi Classical(1750-1830) Ex. Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert Romantic(1830-1900)Ex. Chopin, Tchaikovsky Modern(1900 and onward)Ex, Prokofiev, Shostakovich In respect of the current month of March, the names of Vivaldi and Chopin stand out in particular, for both were born in the month. Besides their general lives, there are also a few of their signature pieces(which I have put down due to personal preference) Antonio Vivaldi Antonio Lucio Vivaldi (4 March 1678 – 28 July 1741) was an Italian Baroque composer, virtuoso violinist, teacher, impresario, and Roman Catholic priest. Born in Venice, the capital of the Venetian Republic, Vivaldi is regarded as one of the greatest Baroque composers, and his influence during his lifetime was widespread across Europe, being paramount in the development of Johann Sebastian Bach\’s instrumental music. He composed many instrumental concertos, for the violin and a variety of other musical instruments, as well as sacred choral works and more than forty operas. Recommended works: Four Seasons Violin Concerto in E Minor, RV278 Cantate \”Cessate, omai cessate\” La Stravaganza Violin Concerto in E Minor, RV281 Frédéric Chopin Frédéric François Chopin (1 March 1810 – 17 October 1849) was a Polish composer and virtuoso pianist of the Romantic era who wrote primarily for solo piano. He has maintained worldwide renown as a leading musician of his era, one whose \”poetic genius was based on a professional technique that was without equal in his generation.\” Recommended works: Op 23. Ballade No.1 in G Minor Fantaise-Impromptu Op.66 Op. 35. Piano Sonata No.2 in Bb Minor(Funeral March) Waltz in Ab major Étude Op. 25, No. 11 in A minor(Winter Wind)

  • To Look Deeper

TW: talk about mental health issues. Hola human beings, I’m going to dive into the mental health issue of Bipolar Disorder today. As someone that suffers from Bipolar Disorder, I would never say anything that will raise controversy or will hurt anyone. If that does happen, know it was completely unintentional and I will apologize in advance for it. When we talk about Bipolar Disorder, we usually tend to think about \”over dramatic behavior\” or someone who goes from happy to sad to mad to happy again in the span of seconds. A person with Bipolar Disorder is someone who has no or very low control on their reactions and emotions. We experience high highs and low lows. We feel things, and feel them passionately. Bipolar Disorder has many negative stereotypes around it. Some people say we\’re incapable of love, and that\’s what I\’m going to be talking about today. Love and mental health issues is a topic that\’s not addressed as much as it should be. To be in a relationship with someone who is mentally upset and has some kind of mental health disorder is difficult for both sides of the party. Someone with Bipolar Disorder, and is in a relationship, is someone who needs constant reassurance but at the same time needs space as well. The other person will never know what to expect, and will never be able to prepare for it. It\’s like a rollercoaster, you sit, buckle up, and hope you don\’t fall out. • The Cemetery Boys: Aiden Thomas

PLEASE READ THIS: this is completely an opinionated review and in no way or form is it meant to intentionally harm anyone. Hey y'all! It's Avii, and I'm starting a new series of blog posts. As someone who reads a crap ton, I thought it might be fun to start sharing some reviews on books I've read. I hope all of you try and check these novels out :) The Cemetery Boys by Aiden Thomas is young adult fantasy novel that gives the spotlight to: systematic racism, being lgbtq and trying to find your way around, and just getting through life as a latino, trans teenager. Meet Yadriel Velez Flores. Yadriel is a transgender boy living in a Latinx community. His dad is the leader of the Brujx community, a society of people that have the gift of seeing and helping spirits find their way to the afterlife. This society is put into 2 groups: bruja and brujo. The females are the healers, otherwise known as the "bruja", and the males are the ones that hunt down spirits that have gone dark, the "brujo". As a transgender boy, Yadriel is not given the same opportunities as everyone else. When Yadriel's cousin, Miguel, goes unexpectedly missing, Yadriel is determined to hunt him down to prove that he is a real brujo. In the process of trying to use magic to find Miguel's body, Yadriel raises another spirit. Meet Julian Diaz. Julian is your local high school bad boy. Julian has no clue how he ended up dead and accidentally raised by Yadriel. When both boys meet, they strike a deal. If Yadriel helps Julian find his friends and make sure they're ok, he will let Yadriel release him to the afterlife to prove his masculinity and show himself as a true brujo. But when they spend more and more time together, they may just realize, letting go might be harder than they thought. Love. Discrimination. And a whole lot of ghoulishness.

  • Dreams

This is a rather personal poem. I created it specifically to impart a sense of wonder and, perhaps, even love. I made it long ago for a friend that isn’t mine anymore. Please, while you’re reading... think about the people that make you feel similar. Let the value of those around you, including yourself, be the bright light in your darkest dreams. Dreams A crack of lightning Sparking aflame a world embraced by the dark. My world. Though it was a flash to light up the night— Being So Incredibly Bright And Sparks scattered like rain splattering On the pavement Perhaps like my mixed emotions... And Truth be told, If I may be So Bold, You made everything bright. Made everything lose its quality of fright. The night was my life And you, my friend, my temptations, my desires, my... deepest shame... You were always my lightning
